Pizza Hut at the Kassam Stadium

Planning permission has been put in for a Pizza Hut restaurant to be built opposite the Bowlplex. I am no planning expert but I would of thought this would effect the building of a fourth stand. Click here for the link

End of Transfer market and thoughts on Steve Hanks

Regardless of the football we signed Sabin and Armstrong before the end of the transfer market. The most speculated transfer was that of Mr Lowe. It was posted on the fans forum in May that Lowe was refused a work permit in January and the following appeal. As he had played no international games, why did B.T. continue to say he did not know that he would not be available, surely another PR stunt by the club.

Steve Hanks has also started his role. As he has had no experience of working within a football club, "Kassamout"  is watching with interest the success of the appointment of Steve, but very happy to see a role has been formed. First problem is he is part time not full time. Secondly he came in to improve communications between the club and fans. If this was working, why did it take 24 hours to tell the fans that Lowe could not come into the club. A small thing to note.

Please keep believing that together, we can get Mr Kassam out of the club.

First match of the season and the fans are divided in if we will do well or not. Either way Firoz Kassam has done absolutely nothing to help us over the preseason with the wage bill drastically cut and seems no money was available for transfers. Therefore please continue to support the campaign. If you would like to add any content onto the site or you have any comments please e-mail kassamout,

Steve Hanks

While I welcome an appointment of a CEO or General Manager, I believe Steve Hanks is not the right man. He has no professional footballing experience as a manager, general manager or as a player (which is something that OxVox stated they would have to have to support the appointment). The only reason I understand is OxVox supports him is due to his friendship with the group.

I urge you all to join OxVox, even if you do not believe their stance on Firoz Kassam and help to change their views from within the group

The Inside Story

From TIU:-

Let me lay my cards on the table. I am a supporter of many (over 30) years standing and do not normally post on here, but read the forum out of interest. But after recent events cannot keep my silence any longer.

I have had business and social dealings with some of the Argentinian group since they arrived, and know from the horses mouth what their aims and intentions were.

Rather than go over the whole thing in detail I can confirm that they did come here prepared to do rather more than just manage the team. They wanted to invest financially in the club and were invited by Firoz Kassam to do so. Right up until last week they were still working to that end. But Kassam did not keep his end of the deal (as recent events confirm). They, sadly, admitted defeat (for the moment) but wanted to attend Saturday's match to wish the fans goodbye. They have been overwhelmed by the friendliness shown to them during their stay, and are very decent honourable people, hence the wish to say goodbye and thank you to the fans.

They were told by Kassam they were not welcome and, contrary to other reports, were not offered seats in the Directors' Box. They decided to buy their own tickets (through a friend) for the Oxford Mail Stand.
They certainly DID turn up, all of them, and were in the Hotel car park from 2:45 onwards. Jean Marc Goiran entered the Hotel bar alone just before this time. I know this because we spoke for about 10 minutes and he confirmed that they were intending to enter the match. I then went outside and spoke to the rest of the group. Believe me they were ALL there. When they realised that it could cause a bit of a scene if they tried to gain access they then entered into a long debate and decided they did not wish to cause "any embarassment or trouble" and would not enter. Nick Harris and Central TV then turned up and were told they would attempt to hold a press conference outside the Quadrangle at 5pm. Believe me, these people are so dignified and couteous it beggers belief. Ramon and the others then sped off in their silver Merc, whilst Jean Marc decided he would try to get in to the game. By now it was about five past three. You all know what happened next, he was refused entry by firstly the stewards and then Tony Ashley who was summoned. He accepted this with remarkable good grace and gave a short interview to Nick Harris and the TV. Nobody threatened violence, pitch invasions, or to rip the nets down as has been suggested elswhere, but some fans inside the ground did chant at the stewards to "let them in". Anything else was pure spin, I was there.

The behaviour of the Argentinians (and JMG) was in total contrast to Firoz Kasssam, whom I tried to speak to earlier on, ouside the South Stand. He was arrogant and dissmissive, looking at me as if I was a piece of dog sh*t on his shoe before turning and ignoring me.

These people wanted to take our club forward, and have very recently turned down other offers to do so, but one very arrogant and decietful man has put paid to it. Kassam led them up the garden path. I know, because I have heard it from the horses mouth.

I fear for our club whilst under Kassam's control, as all he has demonstrated so far is a total and utter contempt for anybody or anything except his own wealth.

JMG, Horacio and other banned from OUFC

Horacio and JMG came back to the club on Saturday to watch the game. They wanted to say thank you to the fans and wanted to sit in the Oxford Mail Stand.

On my arrival at the ground at 1.45pm I asked a steward in the bar who said he was banned at the club. Not quiet believing him I asked a steward on the door into the Kassam who said that they all have been told if they let the Argentina management in they would get sacked on the spot.

They arrive at the Oxford Mail Stand after all buying tickets. However they were denied access. They asked politely again to the steward who said if he lets them in he will be sacked. By this time around 30-50 fans were down in the concourse of the ground chanting Diaz?s name and Kassam Out. A fan then asked the Argentineans if they wanted to come in and they would push the stewards out of the way, but they politely refused and said they did not want any trouble and left. Later it was reported by Radio Oxford that they were offered a place in the directors box, this was conveniently recorded by the steward asking them. They turned it down

They were so polite, reserved and in no way wanted to cause any hassle with the fans or any friction between himself and FK. He showed nothing but respect for the fans or for the club, at a time when we couldall understand him being annoyed and angry. The man was a credit to himself, the fans and to the people he represents, and in my opinion he showed a real love for this football club. These weren't men trying to incite the fans, they were men trying to say goodbye to a club that they grew to love and to the fans that had welcomed them so favourably. A true gent in every sense of the word - i just hope we haven't seen the last of JMG and the men that truely want this club to go places. Move over FK, JMG and his team of merry men deserve to give it a go - furthermore we deserve it to.

My question would be to Mr Kassam, why were they not allowed in? Why were they barred from every part of the ground (except supposedly the directors box)? Why was their Kassam security checking to see if they were in the Priory after the game?

JMG, Horacio and co have traveled from the other side of the world to help Oxford United. Kassam sacks them and then refuses them entry. All they wanted to do is say thank you. Another bit of disgraceful behaviour from Mr Kassam

Sacked

After an interesting week I thought I would post my views on here. Mr Kassam sacked the Argentina management on Thursday claiming he would take time to choose their predecessors. The next day Talbort was appointed. My first question would be surely the management were contracted for the last game of the season. What was the point of stopping their contracts early?

Regarding Mr Talbort. Kassam pointed out that he was the only manager he has appointed with experience of this league (must of forgotten about Mr Atkins). It is fair to say he did well with Rusden and Diamonds but was given a large amount of money and when the money went, so did he. He is seen by Oldham fans as tactically ?stupid.? Mr Kassam has promised money on players this summer. Personally I don?t believe a word he says, remember the Mega Millions?

We need to keep pressure on Mr Kassam to leave the club

Protest for the last game of the Season

Whether you hate Kassam for the way he treats his staff, the lack of contracts to management or players at the moment, the state of the stadium or how the club has dropped down the divisions it is time for action.

The Kassam Out Website is asking all fans to remain in the stands after the match to ensure we get heard that we are fed up with the running of the club. There will also be various Anti-Kassam posters being handed out.

Saturday 7th May

Protest day. I am unsure yet of the greater detail but please send me an e-mail if you have any ideas.

A new web poll for 13th April to 20th April

That friday feeling

Thank you all for your e-mails and feedback with support for the site. The site has recieved over 1150 hits in the last 5 days which is excellent. There will be a few changes over the weekend to the site regarding content and hopefully we will be even better for our second week on the internet on Monday morning. Lastly I am sure you all read the article in the Oxford Mail today, as stated before, this site is here to show the full OUFC history of Firoz Kassam, if you are pro or anti Firoz Kassam please post your views here or to the webmaster who will do his best (if requested) to publish your views on this site:-

THE debate rages on over whether Firoz Kassam as been Oxford United's saviour, or a failure as a chairman.

He has plenty of supporters for the superb stadium he has built and for keeping the U's afloat in difficult times.

But just as many fans are deeply upset at the lack of progress the team has made on the field over the last five years.

Now a new website has been set up entitled www.kassamout which is fairly self-explanatory!

The site's webmaster says he had 650 hits just days after the site had been set up and before it had received any publicity.

Update

Thank you for all your support. We have already recieved 600 hits over the last two days.

I have noticed that a few people have noted gramatical errors and a couple of incorrect factual errors. Could you please report this to the webmaster using the feedback form and I will get the problem fixed immediately

Thank You

The first full day is almost finished and the site has had over 60 hits and has recieved useful feedback. This is an ongoing project and the site will be updated daily with information on Kasssam and fans views so keep coming back to see the new sections. There will also be a weekly poll, when the poll is finished the figures will be shared with Oxford United and OxVox. Please vote on this weeks poll by scrolling down the page.

Soon as news breaks regarding Firoz Kassam and Oxford we will do our best to document it on this website. Remember more people we have logging on, signing the guestbook, e-mailing me with their views, voting in the polls, the more pressure we put on Firoz Kassam to either increase his interest in the club or leave.

The BIG Launch 3/03/05
